Nothing much to say today

It felt good to return to Kathmandu yesterday… back to the hotel that feels like our home here (we left a big bag of our stuff here during the week we took off for Pokhara).

We wove thru the crazy streets (people, cars, and motorcycles all fighting for their part of the road without any order) to what has become our regular middle eastern restaurant here.  The power was out in the hotel (another regular thing here…. maybe that’s why we haven’t seen many elevators in the hotels?)

In the morning we walked maybe 5-minutes to a local yoga studio (just upstairs a very nice coffee shop) that has also been part of our routine here and then returned to the hotel for the breakfast (included in the room fee).  The server knows what we eat so didn’t need to bring us the menu.

We asked the hotel manager how we could get a visa for Thailand here … and he joined us in a cab to the embassy (we paid of course) only to find out they’re closed until Monday because it’s their king’s birthday today.  Then we paid the cabfare to return to the hotel.  We’ll need to get the visa when we return to New Delhi in a week or two.

Next was time for Annie to do more therapy… she still has the not-so-rare disease that only has one treatment – retail therapy.     Afterwards we looked for shipping agents to send the results of her retail therapy back home.

Tonight we’ll reward ourselves for our mostly successful day by going to our favorite cheep Momo dive.

As I said, not much to say today.
