Deliver us from Delhi, Dec.20

yoga

Our new hotel has lifted our spirits and this morning I did my full yoga routine and added 100 push-ups and 60 squats.

It occurred to me that the places we have been staying – except for the ashram in Nepal- have not been inspiring places to be . So much for cheap hotels. How can you feel like working out in a dive? We have been trying to stay in hotels of the $30 a nite price range , with a few exceptions, so that means small rooms and dusty floors and usually street noise. So now our room is much nicer and the breakfast buffet was amazing this morning, and I am re-inspired to pump up my fitness regime. Plus- at this hotel I can have hot cappuccino delivered to my room!
We had a date with our friend Sharon Lowen, who teaches Indian dance at the American school here. She has built quite a life for herself here. She is well known in the upper echelons of Delhi society and today she took us to a wonderful hotel- the Lalita- with an elegant buffet of international food.

I focused on the Brie and sushi and the sumptuous Indian food which I adore. We met her delightful friend George from the US and were Most happy to see again her 97 year old mother.

It was so pleasant to be under Sharon’s warm and friendly wing!
Tonight we have a meeting with Mr Gupta, our travel agent about setting up a tour for us in Rajhastan. I am hoping it is do- able as far as pricing goes. Tomorrow we may do a tour with his driver around Delhi and I am hoping one of the stops can be Starbucks! Yes- I saw it here- from a distance . Will let you know later.
